I wrote this song a long, long time ago. I think the demo is buried somewhere on my SoundCloud. This is pretty much the finished instrumentation, but I’m still writing the lyrics. This was inspired by Fleet Foxes, but I tried to get a slightly heavier sound. I played every instrument except the drums, shout out to Slate Digital’s “Trigger” plugin on that one (unfortunately I only have the demo).

Also, an experimental use of Pro Tools’ half-speed recording function. I recorded acoustic guitar at half-speed (the song played slower), so during normal playback the guitar is sped up (just like spinning vinyl faster makes everything sound very “chipmunky”). Honestly it just made it sound like the mandolins, but it’s still a neat little feature! It comes in after the chorus. Hope you like and thanks for listening!
